Sailing : Deauville heads for the open sea
People also come to Deauville to see and enjoy the sea. As soon as they enter the town, visitors are welcomed with the sight of yachts moored in the port of Morny, followed by the private port and marinas a little further away. In addition to yachting, Deauville organises a number of high-level maritime events that complete the calendar of regattas organised by the Deauville Yacht Club.
More and more crews, from all over the world, regularly come to take part in regattas in Deauville, especially during Deauville International Week, the international sailing week, or for the Open international de France Dragon class and the Sea Horse Rally.
In terms of town planning, the Touques peninsular ideally situated between the sea and the river, along the right bank of the municipal port, will soon have a new district with its own activities and venues.
